Christmas in Abilene

We missed our 4th Christmas celebration due to the icy weather. We weren't able to make it back to Celina on Christmas for lunch with The Vest's. We stayed at home and let Madison play with her toys. We never got out of our pajamas. It was actually kind of nice. Around 5 the roads were finally clear enough so we packed up and headed to Abilene...still in our pajamas!

Saturday we celebrated with Mom and Ron. Grandmom came over and we opened presents and then ate dinner! It was good to sit back and relax. Madison won't let me do anything when my mom is around. Nana has to do everything :) Nice for me, probably not so much for mom.

the kids were worn out after running a few errands on Saturday morning

Sunday we celebrated Christmas with Dad and Laurie. We went over early that morning and had Santa and opened gifts before Randy had to go to work. Around 2, Nanny & Papa and Laurie's mom all came over for a late lunch (when Randy got off work).

one of Madison's favorite gifts. Everyone had to 'say cheese' all day!

Rosco sleeping under the tree

Monday we headed back home. We had a quick trip but we had a lot of fun! Madison loves going to see her Grammy and Papa and her Nana and Pa! She also likes to see her Uncle Michael and "Tara" and one day she'll enjoy her Uncle Randy! :)

she wanted me to take a picture of her and Rosco in the backseat! :)

Christmas Eve

We have two Christmas celebrations on Christmas Eve! We started off by going to Nana and Pop Pop's (Trent's parents) house around noon on Christmas Eve. Sue Ann had made a delicious brunch! We enjoyed all of her food and home made egg nog! It was all wonderful! After we ate the kids were so anxious about opening presents that we let them start sorting them! It wasn't long before the once clean house had become full of toys and wrapping paper! They had such a great time and we loved seeing all of them filled with so much excitement! After eating and presents we just hung out and visited until it was time to head to our next Christmas. Christmas #3 for us!

Christmas at Nana and Pop Pop's-

These are the cookies we made for the Reynolds Christmas

Cooper with all of his gifts!

Madison had so much fun opening her gifts. She wasn't really interested in any of them until they were all opened up!

Everyone in action

This toy was the biggest hit! We got it for Reid but I think we need to go get Madison one. Reid was so sweet and let Madison play with it too. They played with it for hours.

Around 5:00 we headed over to Robert's (in the snow and ice) for The Reynolds Christmas. This is with all of Sue Ann's family! We ate again and did a gift exchange! It was fun to see everyone. We had to leave earlier than we normally do because we were afraid the roads were getting bad. We didn't want to get stuck in Celina and not make it home for Santa.

Madison is so scared of Connor. She did let him hold her. As you can see, she's not too sure about it.

LOVE this picture!

We had such a fun filled Christmas Eve. We are so lucky to have so much family close by that we can celebrate with! I love that Madison has so many cousins close to her age that she can play with! We are very blessed!

Merry Christmas from The Vest's

Cooper visits Santa alone...

because Madison wanted NOTHING to do with him! I didn't think she'd sit with him but I was hoping she'd give in and do it for Cooper. I tried to play the big sister card and tell her she needed to go with Cooper so he wouldn't be scared but she didn't buy it. I tried to bribe her with a new book (because Santa was right outside of Barnes and Noble) or a ride on the train in the mall...that didn't work either! She was not going to give in. So, Cooper got his picture taken all alone. He didn't mind sitting with Santa. In fact, he doesn't care who holds him as long as he can face out and see what's going on. :)

When I was paying for Cooper's picture Madison did lean over and give Santa a hug while Trent held her. Even now when I ask her if she's sad that she didn't sit with Santa she says "No".

Trent's new ride

BEFORE
Well after driving my civic for the past 2 1/2 years Trent finally got a new truck! Trent used to have an Xterra but when we had Madison I took over that car and he drove mine. Remember, he only drives about 2 miles to work so it's not that bad. It's been so nice not having a car payment. We've held out as long as we could but he takes the kids to daycare in the mornings. I think the thought of having to load two kids in a TWO DOOR car was not ideal for him. So he started looking for a truck. He went back and forth between GMC/CHEVY and Dodge. After a few weeks of going back and forth between them he finally came away with a great deal and a great truck. He got a 2010 Dodge. I think he feels like a man again, after driving my 'micro machine' (as he called it) for years! He's very proud! I'm happy for him. It was a little sad to say goodbye to the old civic. I got that my junior year in high school from my parents! It's been a great little car.
AFTER

Nichols Christmas

This is our first of six Christmas celebrations that we have. The Nichols Christmas is with Trent's aunts and uncles on his mom's side.

We started the day by having a birthday lunch for me at Gary and SueAnn's. Gary ended up having to work so he didn't make it. Trent's oldest brother and his family also weren't there. But we had a great time. The kids got to go out and walk Honey and even sit on her. That made Madison's day.

They had so much fun walking Honey around...Ethan said he was training him :)

she finally got to sit on Honey

Trent and Cooper getting in a quick nap

We headed over to Kim's at 5:00 to have our first Christmas celebration! She had mexican food catered! We ate, the kids played, we did gift exchanges and did lots of visiting! Madison had fun playing with all the kids!

Camryn and Cooper

Madison loved doing everyone's hair with the pretend blow dryer...I need to find one of these for her

The kids did a Christmas program --they sang songs. It was real cute.

Madison got a baby. She saw this tiny baby at Target awhile back and has been talking about it ever since. She was really excited to find out that she got it!

All the great-grandkids of Gene Pop and Nani (we were missing Reese)

Trent's family (missing Gary, Mandie and Reese)

We ended the night with some hot chocolate and then got into our jammies! We had a great time and are so excited about the Christmas season. One down and five to go!
