PAINT

Who knew this stuff could be so fun???

Dad and Laurie got Madison two of these 'paints' for Christmas. She LOVED them. They entertained her for hours in the bathtub. She'd paint herself and the bathtub. She played with them every night until they ran out (last month). Her sweet Grammy ordered her 4 more! Madison was SO excited to get them in the mail. She didn't know what do with 4 of them. She played in the bathtub for almost an hour last night!

Here's the sweet little fish!

A day with cousins

This past Saturday the kids and I went to Sanger to see Melanie and her kids. Trent and Zack were in Sherman with the men from our Sunday School class. They left Friday evening and came home Saturday evening. Since we were both home alone we decided to spend the day together. We even loaded all the kids up and went to Hobby Lobby. We were going to go eat but decided ordering a pizza and taking it home was a better option.
Madison and Ethan had a blast playing together. Kailyn will be joining them soon. Cooper slept most of the day. He was taking one of his naps when this picture was taken. Before too long the two little ones are going to be right in the middle of everything and everyone. :)

Ugh

I have not been feeling well for quiet some time now. This past week everything just seemed to get worse. My head and ears felt like they were going to explode. I couldn't stop coughing for the life of me. My whole body was sore from it. I knew it was probably a sinus infection so I decided to go to Rapid Med. I couldn't tell you the last time I went to the doctor. Probably high school or early college. It's been so long that I don't even remember. But, Trent was going on a men's sunday school retreat and I knew I'd be the sole parent in charge Friday and Saturday. I knew I couldn't do it feeling the way I was feeling. So I went in Friday right after school before picking up the kids.

I've been tested for strep before and it's not fun BUT I've never been tested for flu before. That is AWFUL!!!! I knew I didn't have either so it was frustrating knowing I didn't have it but having to suffer through it anyway. I did find out I had a double ear infection (didn't even know adults got ear infections) and a sinus/upper respiratory infection. I do not have pink eye though. He said my eyes were red from blood vessels due to all the pressure and swelling. I got two shots! yay! And then two antibiotics. Hopefully we're on the uphill. I feel like everyone in the family has been sick for the past month or two. We just keep passing it around.

Yesterday when I picked the kids up from daycare, I told Madison I had gone to the doctor. She asked if I got a shot. I told her I had to get two. Then she spent the whole night wanting to see my band aids. I am already feeling so much better! I'm so thankful I finally went in. Next time I won't wait so long. :)

"Mommy, I already waked up"

Madison has been able to open doors for a LONG LONG time but for some reason she has never gotten out of bed to open her own door. Every morning she wakes up and starts calling for us to come get her. Randomly we'll remind her "remember, when you wake up just get out of bed and open your door. Then come find us".
This past Sunday night I said that to her. To my surprise, Monday morning I hear her door shut and she comes walking down the hallway (half smile on her face. The one she gets when she's trying not to smile) and she is SO PROUD of herself. I was too. That afternoon when I put her down for her nap I reminded her again to just get up and come find me. Nap ends and she calls my name and then remembers (I guess) because her door opens and here she comes. This time a little grumpy but still proud. That night we put her to bed. I can't remember if I remind her to get up in the morning or not. We said our prayers and she went to sleep...or so I thought. About 25 minutes goes by and the dogs start barking. I get up to see what they are barking at and here comes Madison down the hallway. She said, "I already waked up, Mommy" She was smiling really big.
Trent and I just laughed and laughed and laughed. It was so funny. Here we've spent over a year trying to get her to come out of her room when she wakes up and here she is telling us 'she waked up' at 8:30pm.
I explained to her that it wasn't time to wake up and she had to get back in bed until morning. She was fine with that. I tucked her back into bed and we didn't hear another peep from her all night. Trent had to wake her up this morning.

Happy Valentines Day

She's not choking him...she's trying to tickle him so that he would smile!

The kids had a great Valentines. They were very spoiled and got a lot of gifts. Nana & Pa got them each an outfit and Madison got candy too. Grammy & Papa got them clothes, a Barney video and some candy (I think), Uncle Dean got Madison some gummy bears, Grandmom got them each candy & crackers and Nana & Pa sent them a card in mail.

Trent and I had a great Valentines too. We celebrated last weekend because Trent was in College Station this weekend for a football clinic. Trent talked me into letting the kids spend the night with his parents. (I'm not very good at leaving my babies. Madison has only spent the night away from us three times and this was the first for Cooper) They had a blast and did good while we were away. We went to eat hibachi, went to a movie (which we never get to do) and then finished our night with cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory (which I've been craving ever since). We got to sleep in the next morning until 9:00 before going to pick up the kids. It was very nice. I'm thankful Trent set it all up. It was nice to have an adult night out. I was sure glad to see my babies though. :)

Mom's 50th Birthday

My mom turns 50 on February 24th. We had a surprise party for her this past weekend. She had no clue and was VERY surprised. I had called her over a month ago asking if she could come babysit for us. We knew that was the only FOR SURE way we could get her to come. :)

Her and Ron came in Friday afternoon. Of course, Madison had them go play in the snow with her right away. Then we loaded up and went to Dickey's for dinner. After dinner, we stayed up visiting and playing until 10:30. A late night for all of us.

Saturday she thought I was going to meet up with Trent and the other coaches and wives. Trent had gone to College Station on Friday morning but she thought he was coming back Saturday (he really wasn't coming home until Sunday afternoon). I left to run errands and go to my get together. They went to Cabela's and then were going to go visit Joan for awhile. I headed straight to Joan's. Michael, Kara, Sydney, Dean, Faye, Grandmom, Joan, Shon, Ryan and Slade were all there. When mom got there we hid in the kitchen and surprised her when she came in. She was definitely surprised. I was glad she didn't pick up on all of us wearing black that morning. Cooper was in navy because he doesn't have anything that is black. Everyone else was in black.

We had a good time. We visited and ate BBQ. Cooper took a nap from 6-8 so we were able to stay pretty late before we headed back to my house. I got several pictures from the night.

SURPRISE!!!

Kara had these shirts made. Aren't they so cute??

Uncle Dean brought Madison a Valentine present...so sweet.

one tired girl...

Happy 50th Birthday, Mom!! We hope you felt special and know that we all love you so much!!

The last of the snow...

Friday morning we woke up to so much more snow. Madison loved sitting in her window looking at all of it. I LOVE this picture!

The final measurement was 9 inches! CRAZY!!!

More from our SNOW DAY

We went back outside after naps this afternoon! I wanted to go out to measure how much snow we had gotten. Madison wanted to go play again. She is really enjoying this snow. We went out back this time. (By the way...our snowman from this morning fell over and is now covered up and gone).

Jack came out to play too! He ran all over the yard.

She was my holder! 7 1/2 inches!! Can you believe it???

Trent and Cooper came out for a second. I tried to get a picture of Cooper in the snow too but it didn't really work out so well...

Trent started throwing snowballs at Madison. You can see that she likes it at first and thinks it's funny. As time goes on and more snowballs hit her she decides she DOES NOT like them. When we got inside she said "I don't like the snow." I told her that Daddy was just trying to play with her and he was sorry. She said "The snow is just fun with Mommy. " He'll have to wait until she gets a little older before they can have snowball fights! I don't blame her. She was getting hit right in the head. Boys. :)

SNOW DAY

When I crawled out of bed this morning I saw that Liberty was closed due to the snow. I proceeded to get ready and head out for school, leaving everyone at home sleeping. About 10 minutes after I left I got a text saying school was canceled. Honestly, by that point I would have rather just gone to school. Now we will have to make it up over Easter or in June. But I turned around and headed home. I made a quick stop at the donut store. I figured Madison would be excited about that.

When I got home she came running out of my room. She said "I was looking for you but you were at the donut store". She was excited to have her donut holes. I showed her all the snow in the backyard. She said "I need to put on my pink boots and run in that snow". After breakfast she put on her pink boots and did just that. We went out front and threw some snowballs at each other and then attempted to make a snowman. I'm not very good as you can see from the pictures. She had fun and that's all that matters!

It's been 3 hours since these were taken and it's still snowing like crazy. I can't imagine how it will look later this afternoon. We'll have to go out and get some more pictures.
