First Day of Preschool and Pre-K

August 27th was the first day of school for the kids! Madison is starting her first year of Pre-K and Cooper is starting his first year at Liberty and his first year of Preschool! This is the first year they have put uniforms in the ECE too. I guess it makes it easy to decide what to wear. :) Madison has the choice of a dress, a tshirt or a polo shirt. Cooper has a tshirt or polo shirt. Since this is the first year they are being pretty relaxed about shoes and shorts/pants etc. I'm sure they will get more strict next year after we've had a year to get used to it. :)

First day of preschool and pre-k

I'm always so sad that I not only don't get to take the kids on their first day, but I don't even get to SEE them until after school. I begged Trent to get a few pictures. He got a few. I wish I had more. He has meetings before school so the kids go to be before care on a daily basis. They moved it from the cafeteria to the indoor playground this year. They were super excited about that. Trent planned to take them to their class on the first day but they were a few minutes early.  He said the kids ran off to the playground. They weren't even sad that he wasn't going to be able to walk them to class. I guess it's harder on me than it is on them!
I'm so thankful for the Liberty ECE. We have LOVED it and can't wait to see how Cooper does. It's fun that they get to be together for a year. I don't think they see each other much during the day but they are together before and after school. The principal told me that they run up and hug each other every day when they see each other. I love that. I love that they love each other so much. I'm thankful they don't fight everywhere they go. ;)

Rangers Game

We ended summer with a trip to see the Rangers. Trent won 4 tickets during his in-service week for the Saturday before school started. It was a 3pm game so none of the kids had naps. :/ They were good seats and we were in the shade within the first hour that we were there. Cooper wanted to get on the field and play. He kept asking when it would be his turn.

Hot dogs made them happy after being there for a few hours.

This was Karsyn's first game! She did so good. She ended up falling asleep right before we left.
This crazy kid wanted me to take his picture and this was his pose. Then his big sister had to make a silly face too. :)

It was fun being together after being away from the big kids all week. We are definitely thankful to have our family back together.

Back to reality

My baby girl went back to daycare on August 20th! She transitioned really well. Trent takes the kids in the morning and I'm so thankful because I'm pretty sure I'd never make it to work if I had to take. Since it's in-service week I don't have to leave as early as I do during the school year. I was able to wake Karsyn up. She was not having it. I rubbed her back and talked to her for several minutes with only a few nudges. I finally had to just pick her up. She looked at me like I had lost my mind. After having some time to wake up, she was all smiles! (Madison and Cooper were in Celina for the WEEK because their school didn't start until the following Monday. It was the LONGEST week ever)

Trent said she did fine when he left her. She's still too young to know what's happening. :) She did good but didn't sleep much on her first day. I'm sure she wasn't used to having so much going on. I made the big kids play quiet games or watch a movie while Karsyn took naps this summer. After a few days she got the hang of it and is doing great! I hate that I'm not spending my days with this sweet face.

Karsyn is 7 months

Seriously, where does the time go. I feel like before I know it I will be posting about her leaving the house and being an empty nester. Our baby girl is growing up. I feel like a lot happened in the past month.
-She started crawling and sitting up by herself
-We added peas, greenbeans, squash and bananas. She likes all of them. She didn't love peas the first few times.
-We also started feeding her food at lunch and dinner.
-She has 6oz bottles every 3-4 hours. Her schedule has been 7am, noon, 3pm, 6-7pm and then before bed.
-She can walk around in her walker. She goes all over the house but gets stuck when she makes it to a bedroom. She can't walk on the carpet.
-Her bottom tooth broke through. It's not all the way out but it's through.
-She is wearing 6-9 month clothes and some 3-6 month onesies.
-She moved up to size 3 diapers because we ran out of size 2. They are a little big but they fit.
-She is getting chunky! Her legs are thick! I love it. You can see the rolls in the 3rd picture. :)
Now that she's mobile she does her best to keep up with her brother and sister. She loves them more than anything. She will grab anything and everything and put it in her mouth. She attacks your face when you're holding her. She'll grab your face and pull you in and kiss all over your face. I love it. :) I'm trying my best to soak in each and every second. I know before long these things will be a distant memory. We love you sweet girl and can't believe you are 7months old!

My girls

This girl can sit all by herself!! She thinks she's big stuff!

These girls love each other and I love them! Thankful they each have a friend for life.

Happy Birthday, Trent

The kids were so excited about surprising Trent for his birthday. His birthday was the last day of camp so he wasn't coming home until after 9 that night. We got up that morning and picked up balloons and a cookie cake. We had a busy day with dentist appointments and a birthday party. I was thankful because I was asked a million times, "when is Daddy coming home?" that morning. I've never seen two people more excited about balloons and cake. I think they thought it was super fun that they were surprising him. AND they wanted to play with the balloons! Ha.

They got to stay up late and even eat a piece of cake! They were super excited to have their Daddy home. Can you tell? We tried to make him feel extra special even though he was at two -a-days all day! We took him out to eat the next night. He deserves so much more than balloons, cake, dinner and reef flip flops! He's an amazing dad and husband and we are so lucky that he is ours!

Camp Copass

Camp Copass always marks the beginning of another football season. If I can survive Copass then I feel like I've accomplished something and the rest of football season isn't so bad. I guess?!?

Trent left Tuesday morning and didn't come home until Friday afternoon. He was home for the weekend and then left again Monday morning and came home Thursday night, late! We were able to go out two nights- one night each week. The kids LOVE going. They love running around, digging in the dirt, playing with their cousins, and seeing their Daddy!

This was Trent's 9th year at Copass! It's crazy that he is going into his 9th season....makes me feel old. Melanie and I often talk about how our Friday nights have changed over the years. I was student teaching during Trent's first year at Liberty. I worked in Lewisville but we lived in Sanger. Instead of driving home and then turning right back around to go to Denton, I would go to Melanie's work and wait for her to get off. We'd change and freshen up in the bathroom at her work and then go eat dinner before heading to the game. We'd get to the game before it started and sit and WATCH the game. We went to all the games, home and away. Then we added a kid. We would still meet and eat out sometimes and still went to all games. Then they left Liberty for awhile and I added two kids. Then she came back and we kept adding kids. Now we only go to home games and we meet early at one of our houses, show up right before half and we're lucky to watch some of the game. Ha!  We wouldn't trade it for anything. One day we'll be able to watch the games again. Until then, we will enjoy these 6 kids!

Pottery Barn package

We spent a small fortune at Pottery Barn on backpacks, lunchboxes and such...But it's worth it to see this smile!
This little guy is SUPER excited about his Spider Man backpack!

 Showing off their backpacks!

This poor girl picked out two different backpacks before settling on this one. Her first two choices were on back order until September. I think she's pretty happy with her choice though!

They had this little duffel bag on sale so I got it for Karsyn. She didn't have a bag when we traveled so this was perfect!

6 months old?!

Where in the world does the time go??? Our BABY is 6 months old. That's half a year. It just doesn't seem possible. She has the be one of the sweetest babies I've ever been around. I'm not just saying that because I'm her mom, although I am partial.  Trent took her to her check up because I was in Abilene. Everything was great. She was doing everything she was supposed to and more. Her stats were: 16.8 lbs 69%, 26.5 in 79% and her head was 43.5 cm 80% --she's definitely started filling in.

In the past month:
-She is super smiley above all else. If I had one word to describe her it would be smiley. She smiles all the time. In fact I have people ask me all the time 'does she always smile like that?' Yes, she does. Unless she's hungry or tired. I love her happy disposition.
-She is wearing size 2 diapers
-3-6 month clothes are starting to get too small. She mostly wears 6 months or 6-9 months.
-Her sleeping is pretty sparatic. I blame it on our summer schedule. Some nights she sleeps all night 8:30-9:00pm until 8:00am. But she has nights that she'll wake up between 4-5am for a bottle and go back to sleep until 8:00-8:30.
-She is full time formula. She has 6 oz bottles every 3 hours or so
-She eats oatmeal for lunch and dinner. She loves the oatmeal.
-She's starting to get up on her knees in the crawling position.
-She rolls all over the place. We can't leave her on the bed anymore and when she's on the floor she can make it across the room in no time.
-She is so ready to follow Madison and Cooper. She watches them non-stop and struggles to see them if they move out of her view.
-She is filling out. She's getting some thighs.
-We were in an awful roll over accident in our Yukon on our way to the zoo
-She had her first trip to the zoo a week after our accident
-She went to the lake for the first time. She hated the life jacket.
-Everything goes into the mouth! Everything.
-She can sit up but doesn't seem to like it. We still have to balance her in the sitting position and she can hold it but most of the time she immediately throws her self back, flips over and gets in the crawling position again. I'm telling you...she wants to move!

We are so blessed that Karsyn is so easy going and laid back. She truly is no problem at all. She's happy to be around people and loves when people talk to her. She goes with the flow and I guess that's good when you're the last of 3. We love seeing her personality develop and are so thankful God chose us to be her parents! We love you so much sweet Karsyn.

She loves swimming
