Christmas Cookies

Decorating Christmas cookies turned into a 3 day process. We made the sugar cookie dough on Sunday afternoon. We intended to bake them Sunday night and decorate them Monday night. They were REALLY sticky when we pulled the dough out of the fridge. We thought it might need to sit longer so we decided to leave it in the fridge overnight. Monday it was still sticky but nothing a little flour couldn't fix. We started to bake them early Monday evening. We made the first batch and were waiting on Trent to get home from his football banquet to make the second batch. It was getting really late so we went ahead and baked all of them.

Tuesday we decorated the cookies. It was....MESSY!!! Madison had a great time and loved decorating them. She wasn't very good at only putting a little sprinkle on them. Notice the GREEN gingerbread cookie. I think she used the rest of the sprinkles :) She also was running her finger through all the cookies and licking the icing off her finger. If you look you can see streaks through several cookies. Yeah, that's where she ran her finger down it. Oh well. What do you do. She had fun!

Those are some of the most fun times in my memory, decorating Christmas Cookies with you kids. Cherish the memories, they grow up so fast.

Did Madison sleep that night? With all the sugar she inhaled? GL
