Ft. Worth Zoo

We have been wanting to take Madison to the zoo since Spring Break and we finally took her this past Wednesday. She was so excited about going. That morning when I woke her up and told her we were going she said "and Grammy and Papa". She's been to the Abilene Zoo twice with my Dad and Laurie so I guess she just assumed since we were going to the zoo that they were going to go with us. All morning she kept naming the animals she was going to see and would tell us what they say. Needless to say, she was pumped!

She is ready to leave! She has her baby, her brush and her sunglasses!

Her favorite thing this time were the monkeys! I love these two pictures of her and Trent looking at them. There were two monkeys playing with each other. Madison thought it was too funny!

This was how she rode around the zoo most of the day! It actually worked out perfect because she could see all of the animals if she was standing up!

We had such a good time. She got to pet a cow in the petting zoo part. She thought that was really neat. We had just as much fun as she did. We are thinking about getting seasons passes so we can go more often! I survived the heat and the walking! :)
I had to post these random pictures because they were all funny to me. The first ones are Madison pushing her panties around in her stroller. She has a million babies yet chooses to unload her drawer and push her panties around???

I'm not sure what she's doing in the 2nd picture. I told her to look at me and smile and this was the face I got...

If you remember, at the beginning of my pregnancy I was very sick. I had to keep grocery sacks close by in case I couldn't make it to the restroom. Madison being the observant child that she is started pretending to throw up in bags when she'd find them laying around the house. Not something you want your daughter mimicking. Well now my back is really giving me a hard time. I recently purchased a heating pad and use it daily. Now Madison has started saying "my back hurts...make it hot" and she climbs in my chair, turns on the heating pad and sits there. She will only sit there until it warms up and then she says "too hot" and gets down. At least this one is a little more acceptable when others are around :)

The following pictures make me smile. Madison wanted Trent to play with her. They were making things with her play doh. Trent REALLY got into it and made Rosco. Madison thought it was the funniest thing. She laughed the entire time. If you notice, her mouth is open VERY wide in all the pictures because she's laughing so hard.

she thinks her Daddy is so funny! She's also into wearing her old baby bibs, not really sure why!

Here's Rosco-made by Trent

Here's Jack -made by Madison (doesn't it look just like him???)

Trent decided Rosco needed a T-bone. I told you, he really got into it :) Madison LOVED the fact that her Daddy not only sat with her while she played but made something too! We have loved having him home with us this summer.

First Professional Hair Cut

I can't say it's her first haircut because Trent cut her hair back in November. He just trimmed the back (mullet) off. Needless to say, it was getting pretty mullet-esk looking again. This time we took her to a place called Kidoos. I was pretty nervous about how she would do but she did FANTASTIC! I was so proud of her. They had Nemo playing on a TV right in front of her chair. They gave her a sucker and a puzzle to play with so all of those things probaby helped a lot. What surprised me the most was that she let the lady blow dry her hair. Are you kidding me?? She runs screaming from the room everytime I get mine out and she let her use it on her hair. Here are a few before, during and after pictures.

AFTER

She was so proud of herself! The whole way home she kept saying "I got my hair done...I got puzzle, sucker, sif (fish)" Trent said we may have started something. He thinks she's going to want to get her "hair done" all the time now :) We are hoping this makes it start growing!

Nana and Pa babysit

Mom and Ron came to stay with us Sunday night! Ron had given us tickets to the Rangers game so they were coming to stay with Madison while we went to the game. Madison was so excited to have them. She had Nana play with her 'table head' (potato head) for a long time, they played in her room and went on several walks all before we left for the game. When we went to the game they took her to McDonalds to eat and play. Her crazy Nana climbed up in the playground with her. Now she's going to expect Trent and I to climb up and play with her the next time we go...that's not gonna happen! I guess Nana will have to come back every time we go. :)

coming home from their first walk

Turning around to wave as they head off on their second walk!
Monday morning I had a doctors appointment so they watched Madison again while I went to my appointment and Trent was at work. All is good with baby #2 (still no name). I have another sonogram when I go back in 2 weeks. I can't believe I'm already having to go every 2 weeks! A little less than 10 weeks to go! I'm so ready!

4th of July

This year we met Trent's parents and family at 1000 Trails on Lake Texoma. His parents had a cabin and are staying all week. We just went for the day. The kids had a GREAT time playing togther. Madison thinks she's such a big girl when she's around all her cousins. We played outside, swam, played inside, ate dinner, listened to some live music and watched fireworks. It was a long HOT day but we had a great time!

The kids playing with bubbles and frisbees outside the cabin

All ready to swim! She had such a great time at the pool! She did such a great job with her floaties! She would 'swim' back and forth between all of us! Of course she had her 'tab' (crab) and bucket too! :)

After we were finished swimming Nana gave everyone a cupcake. Madison enjoyed her icing!

After dinner the kid played on the playground for a long time.

bet you can guess what she's doing now...on our walk to change her diaper she said "I tired Mommy" and not long after she was asleep...

They had a band playing so Melanie danced with all the kids. Madison was shy at first but soon came out of her shell to shake her booty!

The kids waiting to watch the fireworks! Madison was scared of them at first. After she realized they weren't anywhere near her she was fine and liked watching them. She kept talking about how pretty they were the next day. We didn't stay for the whole show. It was hot and they have a REALLY long firework show. We headed back to the cabin and packed up and headed home sometime around 10. The fireworks were ending as we were leaving. Thanks Nana and Pop Pop for having us all out!

Madison's BIG girl room

We were blessed to have a whole bedroom set given to us by some friends of ours. The room Madison was in was the smaller of our two rooms. Her new furniture wouldn't fit in her room so we moved her into what used to be our guest room. The baby will go into Madison's old room. Here are some pictures of before/after and then a few with the new furniture!

BEFORE

AFTER

Trent put up beadboard on the bottom half of the walls and then we painted to the blue(ish) color on the top half. I am really pleased with the final product. He did it all in a day and a half with very little help from me.

Here is the new furniture. She has a bed, dresser and a desk. I'm glad it all fits and she still has plenty of floor space to play. Now we just need curtains and stuff for the walls.

I moved a lot of her bigger toys into her room to get them out of the living room. At one point I walked in and noticed lines in her carpet where she had drug something across the floor. I noticed her baby's bed was missing. I walked into the living room and she had brought it back and put it on the fireplace where she has been keeping it. I guess she didn't like it in her room.

Sherman

Last week/weekend Trent had his annual coaches retreat at the ranch in Sherman. The guys left Saturday, so we met him out there for the night. Madison had a blast. Zack and his family came and so did Trent's parents. It was so fun to just relax and visit with everyone. We weren't there long before Madison and Ethan wanted to swim. Ethan has been taking swim lessons so he's getting to be a good swimmer. Madison wants to be like him so she tried everything he did.

she LOVED jumping into the pool. You'd say 1...2...3...Go! Sometimes she'd jump right away and other times you had to count a few times before she'd get the courage to jump.

When Ethan saw Madison (after swimming) he said "she has a feather". I guess he thought her hair looked like a feather. :)

she LOVED playing outside with Ethan

he shared his animals with her and

they played some football

She was so interested in Kailyn. While we were getting dinner ready Madison sat right beside Kailyn and just patted her, talked to her, and kissed her. It was SO cute! Hopefully she is just as sweet to her new little brother.

After dinner Madison and Ethan went on a ride with their Nana and Pop Pop! Madison loved 'going on rides'. She went on several while we were there. She loved going to look for the cows.

Sunday, we went swimming again before lunch. After lunch we loaded up and headed home. We had a friends wedding that we had to be at.

Hopefully we can make it back before summer is over!
