COOPER IS HERE!!

Last Friday was like any other Friday night. Madison and I went to the football game to watch our Warriors. When we got home we had a snack and were all in bed around 11pm. This is when it changes...Around 2:00 I got up to use the restroom, like I do several times a night. Cooper had been on some nerves in my back for a few months now so I'm always really sore and it's hard for me to walk when I've been laying down awhile. This time it seemed more painful. I made it back from the restroom and was laying in bed. My stomach was cramping really bad but I wasn't sure that they were contractions. About 15 minutes later I was wet. I told Trent "Either my water broke or I went to the bathroom". I got up and for a few minutes still couldn't decide if I had lost all control over my ability to not pee on myself or if my water had indeed broken. It was pretty obvious that it was my water after a few minutes. Of course we weren't packed. The only person who had a bag was Cooper. I was not due until September 16th but Dr. Wilson was going to induce on September 9th. This was only September 5th. We called Melanie so that she could meet us at the hospital to get Madison. We gathered a few things for her and headed out the door. We also called all of our parents so they could start heading that way. My parents have a 3 hour drive. Trent's are only about 45 minutes from the hospital. Luckily, we live about 10 minutes away. We arrived at the hospital and were in our room by 3:30. They started prepping me and I got my epidural fairly quickly. I think I was at a 4 or 5. A little after 6:00 they came in and said they were going to start turning me from side to side to start working him down. As soon as they turned me on my side I told them I was ready to push. I had just been a 5 about 30 minutes before so they turned me back over to check my progress. I was a 10 and READY!! One problem. The doctor was still at home. They didn't expect me to deliver until around 10:00am. Then they tell me "Wait. You can't push. We have to wait on the dr." He was there by 6:30 and Cooper was here at 6:45! It was a very fast delivery and fairly easy. I've been lucky that both my babies have come fast. S
Sue Ann was the only one that made it in time for Cooper's arrival. Mom, Ron and Kara were on the road. They made it around 7:15. Dad was working until 8:00 so him and Laurie didn't make it until around 5:00 that evening. Gary and Seth were hunting and had no cell phone reception. They didn't even know about Cooper until the following day. As the day went on we had several visitors. Dad and Laurie kept Madison while we were in the hospital. She was spoiled rotten and loved every minute of it. Thanks Dad and Laurie. Here are pictures from our days in the hospital.

Finally headed home!

1st week at home...

We had a great first week at home. My mom was here most of the week so that was SO helpful. She was able to help with Madison and she got up with her every morning so that I could sleep a little. My little guy seems to be hard to get to sleep but once he's asleep he NEVER wakes up. He is usually down for the night around 11-12:00 and for the past two nights I have had to wake him up around 9:00 am to feed him. Before that, he was waking up around 2:30 and staying up for 2-3 hours and then going back to sleep until I woke him up again. Either way, he is sleeping more than Madison ever did. We just hope he keeps it up!
Madison LOVES her little brother. She always wants to hold "Tooper". Every time she holds him she thinks that I need to take their picture. She says, "Mommy, I hold Tooper" "Take picture" She holds him for about 1 minute and then wants us to hold him again. She's a big helper - getting pacifiers, blankets, diapers or whatever else he needs. She hasn't asked to change him yet. I really thought she would. If he has a bottle she wants to help hold it. When I feed him she has to come watch. She's very curious about him.
He's a sweet little guy. He doesn't do much but eat, sleep and poop! He seems to be a little fussy when he's awake but I think it's because he's trying to go back to sleep and can't. Our house is not a quiet house.
I'm looking forward to my 12 weeks at home with my babies. Here are some pictures from our first week home.

This was our first night at home. Both kids just had their baths and are cuddling on the couch!

Cooper loves to watch Madison if she is playing or laying close by

First Bath at home! As you can see, he was NOT a fan! He hates being out of his blanket. Not only was he out of his blanket but I was also getting him wet which meant a mad baby! He calmed down quickly and was back to sleep in no time.

Tuesday was our first day to leave the house. We had to go in for Cooper's 2 day check up. I was getting ready and this is how Madison entertained herself. She put on every piece of jewelery that she owns. Note to self: It takes a long time to get ready and get two kids fed and ready. We decided we needed to be ready an hour before we have to leave from now on and hopefully we'll make it to wherever we need to be on time. :)

Getting ready to leave for the doctor!

Saturday morning Uncle Michael came to visit. Madison was so excited he came. That morning when she was getting dressed she said "Michael's comin to see me and my pink outfit" She had just gotten the "pink outfit" the day before. Her and Michael played hard and destroyed the house. She needed that. He did get a little time with Cooper but Madison was right there too.

Nana left us Saturday night to go back home! We are going to miss her! Thanks Nana for coming to help out. Madison is still talking about your walk in the rain. This morning she said "Nana, my baby, my stroller and Madison got all wet"
