I have not been to a track meet since Trent's first (or second) year at Liberty! He's been the head coach for three years so I decided it was time to go back! (Plus it was the first year in awhile that I wasn't pregnant, or didn't have a newborn). I wasn't ready to take Cooper quiet yet. I figured I would not be watching any track but chasing Cooper around the fields. Madison and I met Gary and Sue Ann on Friday evening to drop Cooper off. Then we headed to Waco. We left about 7pm and got to the hotel around 9:30! She was SUPER pumped to stay in a hotel. This was her first time.
When we got there Trent was in a meeting so we went to the room. She immediately wanted to get in bed and color. We tried to find cartoons but couldn't find any at 9:30 on Saturday night. She was super chatty and very hyper. Trent got back to the room around 11:00 and Madison went down to the lobby with him while he took care of some stuff with the rooms. When they got back she was still on 10. At midnight we finally told her she had to quit talking. The lights were out and we were trying to go to sleep but she just couldn't settle down. It was really cute to see her excitement.
Saturday morning Trent got up and left around 6:45. Madison and I got ready and went down to breakfast. She ENJOYED herself. She wanted fruit loops (They had eggs, bacon, bisquits, waffles, muffins and she chooses fruit loops). She ate two bowls. It took her over an hour to eat two bowls...she was people watching and enjoying her 'free' breakfast. After breakfast we went back to the room to get our stuff and we headed to the field around 9:00.
She was such a trooper! She did GREAT!!! We stayed at the fields until around 11:30. Then we decided to make a Sonic run. I didn't want to pay 4.00 for one corndog. Plus, I knew she could use a short nap. We got back around 12:30 and were there until 4:30! We got a sno-cone and then on one of our trips down to the team tent we ate lots and lots of strawberries!
Liberty won STATE again! This is the 2nd year in a row and our first year in 5A! I'm super proud of Trent. He's done a great job. As you can see, Madison had hit a wall. She was hot, she wanted a sprite and NEEDED a nap! Trent road the bus back. Madison and I headed to Celina to go pick up Cooper. She fell asleep soon after she got her Sonic sprite. She slept until we go to Frisco. We had such a fun girls trip!
