San Antonio
TAPPS had a luncheon in San Antonio for their Coaches of the Year. Liberty paid for us to go down for a night. We decided to pick up another night and make a little mini vacay out of it. We left Thursday morning and headed down south. We stopped in Gruene. We ate at The Gritsmill and walked around for awhile. It was so fun being able to enjoy each other without having little ones saying "Mommy" "Daddy" every 2 seconds. We headed into San Antonio later that evening and checked into our hotel. Around 10 we headed out for ice cream and half price books. Those are things you can do when you don't have babies with you. :)
Friday we were pretty lazy (again because that's not something we get to do). We went out for breakfast and then laid around until the luncheon at 1:00. After the luncheon was over we headed down to the River Walk. We walked around there for awhile and then it started to rain. We decided to look up restaurants from Diner, Drive-Ins and Dives. We found one that was only a few miles away so we went to check it out. It was called the The Cove. It was the restaurant, a car wash and a laundromat all in one. :) It was a GREAT place. I had a hamburger. I can't remember what Trent got. I think some sort of pulled pork sandwich. The atmosphere was amazing. They had live music in one area. They had a huge playground in the middle of the patio with tables all around. We didn't stick around long because it was still raining off and on. Later that night we headed back out for ice cream and our new favorite place.
Saturday morning we loaded up and headed home. I don't like leaving the kids and I have a hard time doing it but I'm so thankful we had a few nights to ourselves. It was refreshing.
