Mother's Day in Abilene

We went to Abilene for Mother's Day weekend. We got in late Friday night and spent the night with Mom. On Saturday the kids planted flowers with Pa, we visited with Kara and just hung out. It was nice and relaxing.

Mom, Madison and I went to visit Grandmom for a little while on Saturday morning. She was doing well. She talked with us and held onto the girls a lot. She kept wanting to hold Madison's hand and Karsyn's feet. She LOVED touching Karsyn's feet. It was so sweet. I'm so thankful she's been able to see Karsyn twice now. I want more than anything for her to know my sweet baby girl while she's still with us.

Saturday afternoon we went over to Dad and Laurie's. We ate a great dinner and watched Dad and Trent put a little bit of wood down. Dad and Laurie are in the process of re-doing their living room floors.

On Sunday we celebrated Mother's Day all together. It was wonderful. We all (Mom, Ron, Michael, Randy, Dad, Laurie, Nanny & Papa and David along with my family) had lunch at Grandmom's. Mom said it was silly for us to have to run all over and decided to have one big family meal. I loved having everyone together. It was nice being home and being with family. I was thankful we got to spend one more Mother's Day with my Grandmom.  Her nurse got her dressed up, put make up on her and earrings. It was sweet. It didn't look anything like her but it was such a sweet gesture.

Karsyn is 3 months!

Our girl is growing up so incredibly fast. It's wonderful and heartbreaking all at the same time. In the past month she:
-mostly wore 0-3 month clothes. 3 month fit but was still pretty big on her.
-wore size 1 diaper
-started daycare the day after she turned 2 months! I was SO sad but she did great.
-the day she turned 2 months she went from waking up every 2-3 hours at night to sleeping 6-11 hour straight. She mostly sleeps 8 hours but sometimes more and sometimes less.
-eats every 3 hours during the day --4oz at daycare by the end of the month she moved up to 5oz
-smiles, giggles and coos at us ALL THE TIME. she is the MOST smiley baby! I love that about her.
-is not a fan of the car
-is ok with tummy time but doesn't love it
-loves to watch the kids play. Sometimes at night when I'm trying to cook dinner and Trent isn't home I'll go lay her on the floor in their room and she is very continent watching them.
-still likes for you to face her out when you hold her- she likes to be able to see what's going on
-likes being outside

So far Karsyn is such a sweet, easy going baby. She likes to be held but is also continent sitting in her chair. She loves watching people and is always smiling and talking. She's a great sleeper and has quiet the appetite. We love her so much and are so thankful we were chosen to be her parents.
