Little All Star

Isn't this the cutest outfit! Do you call boys clothes outfits?? Melanie and Zack got baby #2 his first piece of clothing! Madison carries it all over the house. She keeps saying 'baby clothes'...so cute! I had to share his first gift :)

On another note...

I've been making field trip t-shirts all week for our field trip that was supposed to be today. Madison loved watching me. She was so good. She never tried to get into anything. She was content to hold a paintbrush and talk to me while I painted my name on 19 shirts. We were supposed to go on our field trip today but it was canceled yesterday due to the Swine Flu!!! Hopefully we can go in May. We're keeping our fingers crossed.

Nana and Pa come to visit

Last weekend Mom and Ron came to visit Madison. Friday, we went to Joan and Shon's and cooked out. Madison loves their pool. I have a feeling we'll be spending a lot of summer days in their backyard. She started off splashing in the hot tub. Then she decided she's start splashing in the pool with her hands, then her feet and then I decided it was time to strip her down and let her walk around on the top step. I can't believe she got in it. It was so cold but she loved it.

Sitting outside -before she discovered the pool...

walking around with Nana

she found the hot tub!

These were both after she was in the pool. She didn't want to put her clothes back on.

Madison loves stickers. Her and Shon have this game...he takes all the stickers off their fruit and puts them all over Madison. She expects it now. Everytime we're there she goes to the fruit and says 'stickers'. She wore these around for most of the evening.

On Saturday morning Ron cleaned out Madison's sandbox. The poor baby has been playin in mud for weeks. I don't think she cared but it was such a mess. While it was drying, Madison decided she needed to go sit in it.

Saturday afternoon we went to Trent's District Track meet. This is his first year as the head track coach. He's done such a great job. Liberty won district!!! (They have their Regional Track meet tomorrow. Wish him luck! He's had a few kids get hurt. One kid got hurt today and was on 3 of his relay teams. Needless to say, he's been under a lot of stress.) Saturday night, Mom and Ron babysat Madison while we went to celebrate Christa's 30th birthday! We met a bunch of my friends from work at BJ's. We had a great time. It was a nice treat to go out on a date. :)

Kimmy, Christa and I --I'm already looking very pregnant :(

Madison loved having her Nana and Pa here. She called me Nana all day on Sunday. Thanks for coming to visit Nana and Pa and thanks for all the work you did around our house while you were here.

Proud Momma!

In the past week or so Madison has learned how to count to ten. We had been working on 1-5 and then about a week ago we were in the car and heard her count all the way to 10. One of her Elmo shows counts to ten so I guess that's where she picked up the 6-10. She's also learned most of her colors. She now knows red, blue, yellow, pink, purple, white, orange, green, and she's still working on brown and black. She's learned that her full name is Madison Kate Vest. When she says it, it's more like Masun Tate Sef. The only letter she knows is M. She knows two shapes, star and heart. She's definitely learning something new everyday. We are LOVING this stage that she's in. If only it would last a little longer...

Tomorrow is the day...

We find out what we're having tomorrow morning. Our appointment is at 9:00. Madison says it's a girl. Although, I don't know if she really knows what I'm even talking about.

Friends

Amy and Kate came to spend the night with us on Friday. Since they were in town, Michelle came over too! Amy had Kate in December and I found out I was pregnant right after that...which was followed by 4 months of sickness. We were trying to find a date when I could go visit and it wasn't looking like I'd make it until JUNE!!! Amy happened to be coming to the area on Saturday and decided to leave a day early to come see us! I'm so glad she did. I'm so glad that I finally got to meet sweet Kate. She's precious and Madison loves her too!

Easter

I'll warn you now that there are a lot of pictures. My parents didn't get to see Madison this Easter so I promised them lots and lots of pictures! We had a great and busy day. We started the day by going to church. After church we headed to Celina to have lunch and celebrate with Trent's family. We had a HUGE lunch and then watched the kids hunt for eggs! They had a GREAT time. They had so many eggs to find. In fact, within minutes each kid had a parent carrying their basket around for them. Madison always has so much fun playing with all of her cousins and Abby! After we left Van and Kathy's we went over to Nanny Vest's house to see the other side of Trent's family. It was great to see all of them as well. We haven't seen them in awhile!

Treats from the Easter Bunny

of course she goes for the m&m's

her two favorite things - bunny and m&m's (we had bought this same bunny for Kailyn and Madison didn't understand why she had to give it away. So, the Easter Bunny had to bring her one of her own)

eating a few m&m's before church - a fit soon followed because I wouldn't let her have any more.

We had the kids line up to take their picture before they could go out and find their eggs

and they're off...

not sure about her hand being wet

This is where she decided to just leave her basket and bring her eggs back to it. Soon after this Trent started carrying it for her!

checking out all her eggs as she adds one more

towards the end she started opening all of her eggs before she'd put them in the basket. I guess she wanted to see what was in them first.

carrying her heavy basket

happy kids - Madison had already started unwrapping a piece of chocolate and was handing me the wrapper in this picture :)

Eggs

Madison dyed her first Easter eggs today! It was quite the experience. I handed her the first egg and she slammed it onto the table. Then when she went to put it in the cup she dropped it right in...splashing dye everywhere! If the egg hadn't already been cracked, it would have then. She had a great time. She would color on the egg and then tell us what color she wanted to put it in. Daddy had just as much fun as Madison, if not more. In the end, we ended up watching him. :) We started out with 18 eggs and have 12 to take. A few cracked when we boiled them and the rest cracked from Madison's decorating skills.

coloring her eggs

pulling it out of the dye

she just uses her hands, she doesn't need the tools they give you!

watching her Daddy! Notice the farmers tan she's got goin' on!

All done!
