Backyard Fun

Madison loves playing outside. Most evenings after dinner we are in the backyard playing on the slide or in the sandbox. If we're not out back we are out front playing with the little girl (also named Madison) that lives across the street.

Madison is watching her Daddy water the new trees...

Her daddy decided to spray her with the water hose. I love the face she's making. It's like she's thinking "why did he just do that to me"

Now she's decided she's mad about it and is definitely letting him know...

She's still not happy with him because he did it again!

So she ran to her Mommy to save her! She had sunscreen in her hair from daycare. Water and sunscreen don't make for very cute hair when it dries.

She had fun and was happy with her Daddy again within a few seconds!

The New Grill

Before...
and after...
Trent worked really hard all summer doing Real Estate. He would go to his conditioning camp at Liberty all morning and then head to his Real Estate job in the afternoons. He finally got to buy something for himself with some of that money! My step-dad had given us the other grill after we got married. He didn't like it because it was gas. It was starting to fall apart. We never knew if it was going to light or not. Needless to say, it was time to get a new one.

We had to rent a truck to get the grill home so I had Trent buy two trees while we were there! My Dad has been hounding us since we had Madison to put trees in our backyard so that she would have some shade. As you can see, it's going to be a few years before these things give us some shade! But hey, we're moving in the right direction.

LIBERTY FOOTBALL

We finally made it to our first Liberty Football game! The weather was perfect. In fact, it got kind of chilly! Thank goodness I threw Madison's jacket in the diaper bag at the last minute. Madison did GREAT!! She loves to people watch so tonight was the perfect opportunity for that. She was given plenty of attention as the mom's and dad's walked by. Who wouldn't stop to say hi to the cute little girl waving and smiling at them?? I think her favorite part of the night was after the game when she got to run out on the field.

She loved sitting on this step because she was looking up at the stands. She waved and smiled at everyone sitting behind us!

Finally Free!

Screaming with excitement as she runs to her Daddy!

Here's a close up of the pink eye! Yes, tomorrow Madison and I get to go sit in the minor emergency (while Trent works) so I can get some medicine for my eye. I'm going on a week with it so I don't think it's going to go away on it's own!

Playin in the rain

We knew Madison loved to play outside and apparently she likes it even if it's raining. We had walked out to check the mail one afternoon and she ran straight for what little water was sitting in the gutters. Before I could say anything she plopped right down into it. Who knew a little water could be so much fun?? She enjoyed herself and I got a few cute pictures.

Abilene High Football

Liberty had their first football game this past Friday but Madison and I didn't go. We went to Plano to watch Uncle Randy play. Trent's team was playing Gainesville State School so it wasn't supposed to be much of a game. Plus, I don't get to watch my little brother play very often so I like to take every opportunity that I can. Madison did fantastic. We sat in the handicap seats so she was able to play all around me. She made it through the entire game. Abilene High won 54-17!

Waitin' on the game to start...snacking on some gold fish!
Uncle Randy is the kicker (#30)
so thirsty!
Madison and Grammy!

Family Pictures

A good friend of mine from work took our family pictures a few weeks ago. We were originally going to take them at The Botanical Gardens in Grapevine but it was RAINING. So, we had to change our plans. We ended up going to The Gaylord. They still turned out great. These are a few of our favorites.

It was definitely a different experience. We have not had family pictures taken yet. We've just taken Madison to a studio to get her pictures taken. She does much better in that type of setting. In the past, she's always just smiled and posed for the camera. So that's what I had in mind for this day. Boy was I wrong! She was so distracted by all the people, plants and things. It also didn't help that we were in the pictures with her so we weren't able to make silly faces and noises to get her to smile. Overall she did pretty good. At least I know what to expect in the future!

I've finally given in...

I've been needing to start a blog for awhile now but have resisted. I've finally given in. I'm tired of uploading what seems like hundreds of pictures to send to parents and grandparents. I'm thinking this might be an easier way for them to stay connected to what Madison is learning and doing each day, week or month.

I'm still learning how to work this thing so it might be awhile before it's how I want it. Be patient.
