Karsyn is 2 months

Seriously...I think with each child we have the time goes by faster and faster! I can not believe I'm doing Karsyn's 2 MONTH post! It really seems like only yesterday we were preparing for her to join our family and now here we are 9 weeks later. We adore this little angel. She's such a sweet baby. We had her check up today and she is doing great.
She is 11.2 lbs 49%, 23.5" 80% and her head is 39cm 46%
In the last month she:
-was still in some newborn but mostly into 0-3 month clothes
-size 1 diapers
-Started to sleep 3-5 hours at a time at night (the day she turned 2 months she started sleeping 8 hours! YAY)
-Eats every 2-3 hours during the day
-Nurses 100% of the time unless we happen to be somewhere that I cant's slip away to feed her. She does not take a bottle well from me at all.
-Smiles but still random
-Starting to lay on her playmat and sit in her chair for small amounts of time
-Took her first road trip. We went to Abilene to visit my parents and let my grandparents meet her.
-She went to her first track meet at Liberty
-We've gone on walks around the neighborhood.
(It's so crazy typing this stuff because so much has changed in the past two weeks. Those will all be her in her next update)

Spring Break

Spring Break was my last week of maternity leave so it was bittersweet for me. I tried to not think about going to work and enjoy my last week off and a week with Trent at home but I'm not gonna lie, I was dreading going back--mainly because it's so hard to leave my babies. All the things I was able to get done during the day (cleaning, picking up around the house, laundry, grocery shopping and playing with the kids) was now going to have to get done in the few hours I had after school. It's always a hard adjustment.

We started off Spring Break by going to Abilene. Trent and Madison were out of school on Friday so we left Friday morning as soon as the kids were up and ready. Grandmom, Nanny and Papa had not met Karsyn so we were able to show her off. I wasn't very good about getting pictures. Here are a few from our trip.

Michael loves La Popular. Apparently Cooper does too. He ate half of his burrito.

Karsyn getting to meet her Great Grandmom for the first time. She was all smiles. She started 'talking' on this trip. Trent and I had just been talking about how she doesn't really smile or coe at us yet and then all of a sudden my mom was talking to her one night and she went to town talking. Now she does it a lot.

We celebrated Kara's 20th birthday while we were there. So hard to believe she is 20!!

We were only there Friday morning through Sunday late afternoon so it was a quick trip but fun to see everyone and show Karsyn off. I didn't get a picture of her with Nanny & Papa. I'll have to make sure and get that when we visit again this summer.

One of our best friends, Michelle, came over to hang out and visit on Monday. She's been in Africa for the past two years. We had a reunion breakfast with all of our best college friends a few weeks ago and I was able to see her then but Trent wasn't able to go. Before she left for various trips she came to see him and hang out. It was a GREAT day/night of talking and eating. After dinner, Trent and Michelle went to Albertsons to get some ice cream. They had their little icecreams on sale for a dollar. I expected them to come back with 4 - one for each of us and one for the kids to share. No, they came home with 8! Yes, 8. We ate a lot of ice cream. Madison was in heaven. We are so thankful for friends like Michelle. It didn't seem like 2 years had passed since we last talked.

We played outside with the neighbors a lot. This particular day they were waiting for the ice cream truck. They had all gotten money out of their own piggy banks and were waiting patiently for him to make it around to our street.

So fun! Our kids LOVE playing with these sweet friends.

Wednesday Trent had Empire come give us an estimate on wood floors. I didn't think anything of it because I really didn't think he'd get them right now. I figured it would be another year. Well they came and Trent bit the bullet. We got wood floors and they were coming the following day to put them in. I was so excited.

They didn't get finished on Thursday so this is what we had to deal with Thursday night-- no furniture, no tv, dust EVERYWHERE from them taking the tile out and limited access to all the other rooms because that's where all of our furniture was. It was a little bit of a stressful evening.

Sweet and Sassy Party

Madison and the birthday girl - Kailyn
Kailyn's birthday was over Spring Break but they are in the process of moving. Kailyn had Madison and her other sweet friend join her at Sweet and Sassy for a girly birthday party. They got their hair done, make up on and few walks down the runway. Madison LOVED this party.

My sweet, sweet girls!

Sunday was our last day together. That afternoon we took the kids to Going Bonkers to play! They had a blast! It was a great way to end our Spring Break.

I am so thankful for the last 9 weeks I got to spend at home with my sweet babies. I'm so sad about leaving them and having to go back to work. I just keep telling myself--I only have 10 weeks left!

No need for a restroom

This little dude will pee anywhere--Taco Bueno parking lot, Behind Walmart, on the side of the highway and of course off the back porch. He has a smaller bladder than I do so unfortunately he has peed in all of those places. Bueno and Walmart have happened when it's just been me with all 3 kids. He always waits until we're all loaded in the car and then says he has to go. Instead of unloading all 3 kids again I've just had him go outside.
His Daddy taught him to go off the porch and that's what's started it all.

Playing with the big kids

Karsyn LOVES to lay on the floor in Madison & Cooper's room while they play! The other day I tried to get a few pictures of them playing.
Cooper was singing/dancing to the music playing

Little miss mommy!

Karsyn taking in all the action

playing his air guitar!

I'm so thankful for these 3 sweet babies! I love moments like this when we're all just hanging out!

Nana & Pop Pop's House

The kids always seem to gather here...of course it's right by the snack jars!

The kids loved feeding the horses! Cooper has to go out to see them every time he goes to visit. He doesn't care how dark, cold or hot it is.

A visit from Grandpa

Mom and Grandpa made a trip to see us while I was still on maternity leave. They came in on a Tuesday and left again Wednesday. It was a quick trip but mom got her baby fix and Grandpa got to meet Karsyn.

Community Helper Day

I guess she got tired of trying after the first picture

Madison's school had community helper day and she wanted to dress up like a teacher.

She LOVED wearing my badge from school. She went decked out in a dress, high heels, jewelery and her teacher badge! Oh and her week old heart tattoo. I thought that added a nice touch.

Karsyn is a MONTH already

So, it's really hard keeping up with this thing with 3 kids. I can't imagine what it will be like when I'm back at work.
I can not believe our baby girl is ONE MONTH old already. (Technically she is 1.5 months now but when I took all of these pictures she was only a month)

Here are some things that happened in the first month:
-She slept non-stop for the first 4 days of her life. Literally. I could not wake her up to eat. It was a battle. When we went back for her 2 day check-up she had dropped to 6lbs 12oz. But it didn't take long for her to realize she wanted to eat.
-Early on she ate about every 3/4 hours day and night. As the month went on she started eating every 2/3 hours during the day--sometimes stretching it to 4 hours but it's like clock work at night. She's up every 2 hours on the dot. Her schedule is typically midnight, 2, 4 and 6 or 7. She does got back to sleep after the 6/7 feeding but she has a big brother that's up about that time.
-She hates her diaper being changed. Screams.
-LOVES to be held and cuddled
-Smiles-especially when her sister is talking to her. I'm not sure if this is coincidence or if she's really smiling at Madison.
-She gets the hiccups A LOT. Almost every time she eats
-She has a lot of hair (well a lot for being my kid)
-She's been sleeping in our room in her pack and play and Trent has been on the couch. He can't stand to not have the fan on. I was feeling bad for him so I moved her down to her room on her one month birthday. :/ It actually works out better because Trent and Madison get ready in our bathroom in the morning and everyone coming in and out was waking her up. It was VERY HARD for me to move her out though.
-She's my walking baby. She likes to be held BUT she also likes to walk around.
-She's reaching for her butterflies on her chair
-She grabs things --rattles we put in her hand, hair, clothing etc.
-She's VERY alert when she's awake. She has been since the day she was born. If she's awake, her eyes are wide open and she's taking it all in.

Love that face! She does that when the camera flashes--it makes it hard to get a picture!

We are so thankful for another sweet, healthy baby. As crazy as it is having 3, I wouldn't trade it for anything! We love her so much and are so excited to see her grow and watch her little personality come to life. It will be interesting to see what she's like. Will she be quiet and shy like Madison or silly and a clown like Cooper? Maybe she'll be a mix of them both or something completely different. Either way, we are thankful and blessed by her! I just want to freeze frame time (maybe after she starts sleeping through the night) because they are all growing up way too fast!
