Spring Break

Spring Break was my last week of maternity leave so it was bittersweet for me. I tried to not think about going to work and enjoy my last week off and a week with Trent at home but I'm not gonna lie, I was dreading going back--mainly because it's so hard to leave my babies. All the things I was able to get done during the day (cleaning, picking up around the house, laundry, grocery shopping and playing with the kids) was now going to have to get done in the few hours I had after school. It's always a hard adjustment.

We started off Spring Break by going to Abilene. Trent and Madison were out of school on Friday so we left Friday morning as soon as the kids were up and ready. Grandmom, Nanny and Papa had not met Karsyn so we were able to show her off. I wasn't very good about getting pictures. Here are a few from our trip.

Michael loves La Popular. Apparently Cooper does too. He ate half of his burrito.

Karsyn getting to meet her Great Grandmom for the first time. She was all smiles. She started 'talking' on this trip. Trent and I had just been talking about how she doesn't really smile or coe at us yet and then all of a sudden my mom was talking to her one night and she went to town talking. Now she does it a lot.

We celebrated Kara's 20th birthday while we were there. So hard to believe she is 20!!

We were only there Friday morning through Sunday late afternoon so it was a quick trip but fun to see everyone and show Karsyn off. I didn't get a picture of her with Nanny & Papa. I'll have to make sure and get that when we visit again this summer.

One of our best friends, Michelle, came over to hang out and visit on Monday. She's been in Africa for the past two years. We had a reunion breakfast with all of our best college friends a few weeks ago and I was able to see her then but Trent wasn't able to go. Before she left for various trips she came to see him and hang out. It was a GREAT day/night of talking and eating. After dinner, Trent and Michelle went to Albertsons to get some ice cream. They had their little icecreams on sale for a dollar. I expected them to come back with 4 - one for each of us and one for the kids to share. No, they came home with 8! Yes, 8. We ate a lot of ice cream. Madison was in heaven. We are so thankful for friends like Michelle. It didn't seem like 2 years had passed since we last talked.

We played outside with the neighbors a lot. This particular day they were waiting for the ice cream truck. They had all gotten money out of their own piggy banks and were waiting patiently for him to make it around to our street.

So fun! Our kids LOVE playing with these sweet friends.

Wednesday Trent had Empire come give us an estimate on wood floors. I didn't think anything of it because I really didn't think he'd get them right now. I figured it would be another year. Well they came and Trent bit the bullet. We got wood floors and they were coming the following day to put them in. I was so excited.

They didn't get finished on Thursday so this is what we had to deal with Thursday night-- no furniture, no tv, dust EVERYWHERE from them taking the tile out and limited access to all the other rooms because that's where all of our furniture was. It was a little bit of a stressful evening.

Sweet and Sassy Party

Madison and the birthday girl - Kailyn
Kailyn's birthday was over Spring Break but they are in the process of moving. Kailyn had Madison and her other sweet friend join her at Sweet and Sassy for a girly birthday party. They got their hair done, make up on and few walks down the runway. Madison LOVED this party.

My sweet, sweet girls!

Sunday was our last day together. That afternoon we took the kids to Going Bonkers to play! They had a blast! It was a great way to end our Spring Break.

I am so thankful for the last 9 weeks I got to spend at home with my sweet babies. I'm so sad about leaving them and having to go back to work. I just keep telling myself--I only have 10 weeks left!
