Decorating for Christmas

We decorated the weekend before Thanksgiving! I don't know who is more excited, the kids or Trent and I? We love Christmas time--the lights, the decorations, the excitement and wonder, the special times with family and friends and most of all remembering and teaching our kids why we celebrate.

 I love this one!
Madison or Cooper were taking pictures, I can't remember. That's bad, I know!

The nutcracker was 'eating' m&m's! I can't tell you how many crushed m&m's I found.
This girl LOVES to decorate! She wants to do it all.
Cooper actually helped a lot this year too. He was definitely more interested than last year.

After we finished in the living room, they went to do their tree in their room.

It still has a lot of pink from when it was just Madison's tree. We should probably change out the ribbon. I figure before long Cooper will be back in his room and Karsyn will be with Madison and then they can have all sorts of pink. I let the kids pick out a pack of ornaments at Hobby Lobby. Cooper chose footballs so there are some 'boy' things on the tree. You just can't see them in the picture.

The next morning I made m&m cookie and the kids ate one fresh from the oven for breakfast while watching a Christmas movie. It was the perfect start to our Thanksgiving break.

I forgot to take our family picture after all the decorating so I took one the next day! Yes, Madison is in the same clothes. They are clean. The minute I wash them she puts them back on. This is her favorite outfit. I sure love these three and am so thankful God chose Trent and I to be their parents.

Like I said in a previous post, she gets into everything. She has decided this is her favorite spot. She crawls back there to play with the ornaments. When I get onto her she will stop, look at me and smile. As soon as I look away her hand is right back up there. Stinker. At least she's cute.

Karsyn

This girl has two shelves full of kids books and she ALWAYS chooses to pull her Daddy's commentaries off instead. She's real proud of herself when she does it, can't you tell?!! She definitely gets into a lot more than the other two ever did. She might be our handful. ;)

Last home game...

that Trent will ever coach!
He has decided after 9 years of coaching that this will be his last! You would think that I'd be jumping for joy excited to have a husband again, but it's weird. Don't get me wrong, I am DEFINITELY happy but it's all I've known. We got married in July of 2004 and the day (or maybe two) after we got back from our honey moon he left me for two weeks of football camp. Being a coaches wife is all I've ever known. It took me about 3 years to get used to it but I did.
I won't know what to do next August when he doesn't leave me for two weeks, when he's home on Thursday and Friday nights and all day Saturday. It will be wonderful! I will miss cheering him on, on Friday nights. I guess we can go cheer the Warriors on together. :)
Starting next year he will only be teaching. He will keep his math classes and add two more classes to cover his athletics period. He's hoping he can pick up Bible classes. He will be home every day by 4:30. What a change we have in store. I'm looking forward to it.

This was a bittersweet night. He coached 3 more games after this one but this was the last game at home. One journey is coming to an end while another is just beginning. I'm looking forward to what's in store for our family.

I'm so thankful for these sweet girls. I'm thankful Madison has such a great group of girls that she gets to play with every day at school.

What a fun first season of soccer!

The 4th tooth is GONE

This girl lost her 4th tooth!! Now she can sing "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth...my two front teeth...my two front teeth..." She looks SO grown up and talks funny. I love it! This tooth came out unwillingly. Her Daddy pulled it after an evening of tears.

November Randomness

Madison lost her 3rd tooth

This girl lost her 3rd tooth on November 5th! Both of her top teeth have been lose and barely hanging on. The left one finally fell out. Her Daddy had been asking her to pull it out all weekend and she wouldn't let him. She lost it at school while eating pizza! Now it's time for the other tooth to come out. :)

She does not want the tooth fairy coming into her room so we left her tooth on the kitchen table with a note. Her note says "Tooth fairy come in Madison lost a tooth" I helped her spell the words but she chose the sentence to write. :)
