Christmas Tea Party

Mary Jane Searcy invited Madison to a Christmas Tea Party on December 8th! Her family adopted a little 5 year old angel for Christmas and the girls were asked to bring a gift for her. What a fun idea! Her mom and Grandmother hosted the party at her Grandmother's house. When the girls arrived they made necklaces, drew pictures for Adrianna (our angel) and then decorated Christmas cookies. After the cookies Mary Jane's grandmother let them dress up in her hats, boas, necklaces and they even got to put make up on if they wanted. Madison chose a pear necklace and a little bit of lip gloss. We took them out back to get a few pictures.

After the pictures we went back inside and the girls had a little tea party. They ate their cookies and other goodies the hostesses made. They were all so quiet. :)
After tea and snacks we headed back into the front living room while JJ (Mary Jane's mom) read a Christmas story and shared some versus from the Bible. After that, her Grandpa came in and played his guitar and sang some Christmas songs with the girls. He plays the guitar at our church. The girls played a little bit longer and then we headed home.
I loved the idea of this party. It was a time for the girls (and the mom's) to get together and play but also do something for someone else. It was such a good reminder of what the season is supposed to be about-- Jesus' birthday being the most important but also giving instead of always receiving.

After this party was over we rushed home for Madison to get packed and ready for her first sleepover!
