MRI

I had posted earlier about Madison's ABR test. Because of those results, her ENT wanted to do an MRI. On December 14th, we headed to Plano to Cook's for her MRI. Mom and Ron came and stayed with us the night before to keep Cooper and Karsyn.

When we got there we had to wait a little while. I was anxious. I felt a peace about her results, I really didn't feel like they would find any devastating news. I was more worried about her going under.

They moved us from the waiting room to a private room where we waited some more. They let one of us go into the MRI room and be with her while they gave her the anesthesia . It was amazing how fast she went to sleep. Once she was asleep, they dismissed me where we waited.

Afterward she was feeling nauseous and was quiet. She threw up on the way home but recovered fairly quickly after that. Nana made her breakfast when we got home. She ate and layed around for a few hours and was ready to go. We went to Joan and Shon's later that night for Christmas with them.

The MRI results didn't show any abnormalities. Basically, we don' know why she has hearing loss. We don't know if she was born that way or if this is something that has changed over the past 7 years. We will follow up every year to see if there is any change. We are so thankful that we didn't receive any 'bad' news. We are praying that this is how her hearing has always been and it doesn't continue to get worse.
